Blogging - what is it??

With well over 9 million participants, it certainly has become one of our favorite pastimes!
If I were browsing, and came upon your Blog, would I want to read it and tell my friends about it? Certainly there are challenges here, ceating new posts regularly, interesting enough to make readers come back.
I often feel that I do not have quality original material, making me very hesitant to contribute. Some of Posts are very Political, some very personal, some profound, some just fun, and interesting ..gotta get just the right mix!!!
Ohhhh, and better think twice before you say it - can't take it back, and apologizing and explanations are not the way to go!!!
I feel we have a responsibility when we create a Blog - there can be consequences!!
Am I being too serious??

Very…just kidding…or maybe not.
Seriously, some bloggers do it to amuse themselves and some to amuse the readers. As you said there are so many different issues in posts but on the other hand we are so many different personalities so with a little luck we find the interesting post that amuse us and probably come back to that particular blogger.

I think this is important!

I have one self-created rule;
I never make a post upon an other person only on phenomena in our every-day living.

Phenomena can be harsh when putting them on the air for sharing thoughts, ideas and controversial. But, IF we all write about Angels and Love all the time, we would not trigger our minds. Blogging to me is more self-amusing (read Grasshopper) than social ... but, in the long run I have happily met some very nice people, and You are certainly one of them my dear Canuck-friend.

Hello my dear friend,

I have not been good at visiting my cyberian-friends. Lately I have been working at least 12 hours every day. Today I am off work ... puhhhh.

What is Your excuse??? ;-)

Hi Anna-lys
My excuse is not as profound as yours, altho I also have been working many hours taking care of numerous 'things' in dire need of some TLC!!! Guess I am not a very good 'blogger'-I don't take care of my space-and my mind wanders to such a degree that I currently am somewhat concerned about my sanity. However, I am happy in that confused state!
So, what are you working on - what takes so much of your time? Is it fun? I have just completed my front garden, and it is absolutely stunning, with varying shades of green (with the help of Hostas) and flowering ground cover. I have just signed up for some intense Art History courses, starting in September, and the first installment is Turkey. Looking forward to that, as I was there a few years ago - so that's on the agenda. Got to run now, and purchase a Birthday gift for my 6 yr. old grandson - have to find some 'Wrestlemania' guys - can you believe that?
Wish me luck -
Have a nice weekend, and don't work so hard!
Puhhh - love that comment!
I can even pronounce it!!!

Yes, the responsibility. It makes some of us hesitate. "Is it good enough?". Others publish anything - probably assuming that the text stays in their computer.
And about Anna Lys: It is not true, that we met in Mjölby. It is just rumours.

Have a nice summer!

"I feel we have a responsibility when we create a Blog - there can be consequences!!"

I have been thinking ... (I am not kidding - I now how to do it) about those words of Yours.

WHY ... do we blog? Is it not because we want reactions ... ie consequences? IF we only blog to show off, or due to existential matters ... I guess we can run naked through the streets instead. We do blog because we want a change ie consequences, other than a suntan on our bottoms ;-)

What do You think?

Anna-lys -
'why......do we blog'
I think an exchange of ideas, alternative opinions, re-enforcement of our comments - answers to questions -
Life being a journey-there is always room for input by those who know more -
and I for one, appreciate the opportunity to digest all opinions .....
That is why I blog - and the rewards can be great -
meeting intelligent minds such as yours ....
One of these days, I shall go out 'on a limb' creating a controversial subject matter - leaving myself wide open for 'come what may'!!
Be kind!!!

Hi Carol

No it is not that big. Our National Day is only three years old. The purpose is to welcome new citizens as Swedes ... I think that is a good course ... they get their "diploma" as Swedes today.

Maybe You will lift Your butt from Your porch and visit my porch instead ... or the other way around. We will have a couple of drinks and discussion the true core of blogging ... then after getting sober ... we will publish our shared meaning upon the phenomena on both our blogs at the same time.

When is the next flight?

OK Anna-lys -
That's a great idea - I have a large porch, with wicker chairs, padded, overlooking a magnificent garden, and our weather is delightful. Come on over - large house, empty rooms, bring Fancy and we will solve the problems of the world - I bet we could do it - and publish the results! I've got air miles I can give you -
waiting to hear your estimated time of arrival.

July 1st is Canada Day, where recent immigrants, who qualify, and some who don't, get their citizenship. Huge parade, steet musicians, food booths,Amusement park,it is quite the event!! A good time for you to visit, indeed!!!

NB -
Now - your blog definitely relates to the mathematically inclined soul, and while I am absolutely not, still I enjoy your writing.
I turn your challenges over to my son/daughter,both of whom are capable!
I just go with the flow, trying to stay out of trouble.
